Konnect Ministries is a para-church organization—meaning we operate alongside the local church, not in place of it. As a faith-based nonprofit, our mission is to complement and support the work of churches by offering specialized services and outreach that address specific community needs—particularly in the area of addiction recovery, reentry support, and life restoration.
How We Support Local Churches
We believe the Church is the heartbeat of community transformation. That’s why our goal is to equip and empower local congregations with tools, resources, and training that expand their reach and effectiveness. Here’s how we partner with churches:
Our calling is to be a bridge—to help churches reach people in recovery with compassion, dignity, and hope. When we walk together, lives are transformed, and restoration becomes a reality.
Konnect Ministries was founded in 2022 by Brian Freeman, a man whose life was radically transformed by the love and power of Jesus Christ. Having personally experienced addiction, incarceration, and recovery, Brian answered the call to help others encounter the same grace that changed his life. What began as a simple step of obedience has grown into a full-scale movement of hope, healing, and hands-on opportunity.
Established as a 501(c)(3) para-church ministry under The Missionary Church International (TMCI), Konnect Ministries exists to connect people to Christ, purpose, and community. Our outreach initially focused on teens, men, and women in recovery—those often overlooked but never forgotten in the eyes of God.
In 2022, Konnect launched a nonprofit retail initiative: the Konnect Wholesale Furniture & Thrift Store in Caroline County, Virginia. More than just a storefront, the store operates as a social enterprise—providing individuals in recovery with both volunteer and paid opportunities to develop skills in retail, pricing, merchandising, customer service, inventory management, and delivery logistics. Every purchase made is tax-deductible, and every sale directly supports transformation. It’s where second chances meet secondhand goods—and where dignity is rediscovered.
In 2023, we expanded our mission into the trades by launching Konnect Landscaping. This program provides men in recovery with training in landscaping, lawn care, and small-scale business operations, creating a pipeline not just to employment, but to entrepreneurship and long-term stability.
And in 2025, the vision expanded again with the opening of Konnect Recovery—a 7,100 sq ft transitional sober living residence for men aged 18–60, located on 5.21 acres of peaceful land. The home offers a structured, faith-based environment centered on brotherhood, accountability, and spiritual renewal, while also providing access to Konnect’s employment-focused programs. It’s more than a safe place—it’s a launching pad for a purpose-driven life.
Today, what started as one man’s testimony is now a growing, Christ-centered ecosystem of ministry, workforce development, and discipleship. At Konnect Ministries, we don’t just help people recover—we walk with them as they rebuild, renew, and thrive.
Our mission is to offer holistic recovery support through faith-based counseling, life skills training, and community engagement. We are committed to fostering resilience, personal growth, and long-term recovery by providing a foundation of faith, hope, and love in our recovery residence.
Our vision is to create a compassionate community where individuals in recovery are embraced and empowered to live fulfilling, substance-free lives. We strive to eliminate the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health, promoting understanding and acceptance.
